Built by people who see the gap firsthand.
EmpathEQ was born from the concern of educators and health systems who see the gap between the human skills nurses and clinicians show and those required on the floor. We built the educational experience and data layer that bridges it — turning behavioral signals from clinical simulation into structured, actionable insight.
“The most important skills in nursing have always been the hardest to measure
— until now.”
- Empathy
- Communication
- De-escalation

The people behind it
Four people with different backgrounds, one shared conviction.
- I've been fortunate to spend my career where technology and education meet. I'm delighted to have this opportunity to build better tools for our caregivers.
- I believe deeply in the power of communication—and in an age of AI, the importance of developing the skills that make us uniquely human is only accelerating. The opportunity to use AI to train emotional intelligence is what drives me.
- Since young, I've been curious about what makes us human—both within ourselves and in how we relate to others. As technology accelerates, our challenge is to use it to deepen, not replace, human connection. EmpathEQ is my way of giving nurses the tools to do their work with confidence and have a life they can sustain.
- After decades building media and communication technology, I've seen innovation both connect and distance us. I joined EmpathEQ to bring AI and data-driven rigor to quantifying and improving the interpersonal skills that have diminished as we've shifted to communicating digitally.
